XP Themes can slow a computer down and it is a good recommendation to switch XP Themes off. This can be done by selecting "Start" and right-clicking on "My Computer" and then selecting "Properties" - "Advanced" and then the "Settings" button under "Performance". Select "Adjust for best performance" and press "OK". This will speed up your computer and you can still configure your Desktop to look attractive. If this does not switch XP Themes off then check your display properties by right-clicking an empty section of your Desktop and selecting "Properties". Select "Windows Classic" from the theme drop-down menu and "OK".

These defaults will be over-ridden if stock control is used and will only affect new applications - they will not alter existing records. Please use with caution, as a default product price will carry on into a new season. Stock control is the best way to integrate costing information. This new option is provided for those with simpler requirements and speed.
Misc. and Fixed Costs now support a default "Cost Type". This is useful when sub-dividing costs by types of operations, etc. Labour, planting, harvesting, etc.

A field's "Harvest Date" will alter for new, or edited chemical records correctly, however should a chemical application get deleted that affects the harvest date, the field will show the wrong harvest date until another chemical is applied, edited, or you specifically run the "Records" - "Reset Harvest Interval Date" menu option on the main Field Track screen(s). Using the advanced batch editing options to globally alter dates, times and weather of all applications WILL NOT alter the application's, or field's next harvest date under certain circumstances. If harvest interval is a key element to your business then running the "Records" - "Reset Harvest Interval Date" menu on the main Field Track screen(s) should be considered your first task when deciding a field's next harvest date.

Records can be viewed by season, or all records. Useful for any type of cost recording. Due to this change the "Machine Database" which is used when applying records has been altered so you can tag an entry as 'Listed', or not in your application records. This allows you to create machines, or cost entries not related to application recording and use the new machinery cost database facilities.
Misc. and fixed cost products can now store and use a default price/unit when applying records.
Added "Field Track Direct", which will attempt to connect to the Internet every 14 days to update the user of any information. This can be accessed through the "Help" - "Online Support" - "Field Track Direct". The feature can be adjusted, or switched off in the configuration settings under "Email Settings".
Added approval expiry date to CSL chemical database module. If no date is present the approval either has no expiry date set, or has full approval. Expiry date search function also included to list products with an approval expiry on, or before your selected date.
Added weed/disease search ability to the CSL chemical database system. This alteration requires a complete CSL database upgrade and data conversion times are extended to cope with the larger dataset. Weed/disease databases have a slightly more complex updating system and do not get updated each time you update your main CSL data. You can also over ride the weed/disease upgrade system to be sure the update takes as less time as possible. The weed/disease search system is built up of over 1100 weed/disease matches which cross reference over 339,000 crop type approvals.

Added "Buffer Zone" entries when adding a chemical application. If the chemical has a "Yes" buffer zone, then Field Track will add any combination of the chemical's buffer zone entries, the field's batch processing buffer zone entry and also the field's main buffer zone detail.
Added "Central Science Laboratory - Liaison" database module. This an additional subscription service only available to "Professional" Field Track users. The database module costs £100/year (in addition to the "FTUC" service). The CSL module details over 2100 chemical products and integrates into your product database. Information is updated weekly on a Sunday afternoon. The update procedure is a full database replacement system. This implementation is the first stage of the CSL Database module. Future releases will provide further function.
Altered several aspects of the chemical add/edit screens to better display any imported CSL information. Hazard group is now a memo rather than a drop down list. Precautions will now better expand when making the add/edit screen full screen.
Added 'Dated' application output to main report engine. This is a "Professional" feature only. You can now specify a starting and ending date and Field Track will create a report database called "REPORT-Dated" to the report collection. Useful for printing invoice type reports of only required records. Need to create a report of only records between two dates then you can use this system in the report engine, as the database will only contain records within your date selection. If your chronological records are date limited, these dates will be used if you go to the report engine directly from the "Chronological Records" screen.
Both types of field soil records can be accessed from with a field edit screen. Please refer to the manual regarding the two different types of soil records available for a field.

If you only wish to apply your "Application List", then you will need to view the "Application List" and select the "Apply" option. The only change to this feature is the option to move the records to the Planner instead of only the field records.
Added extra batch update options to globally alter dates, times and weather. These options are available at the bottom of a batch update requester. This is another update process after your main batch update selection. For example, you can update the "Rate Only", however selecting "Alter Dates⁄Times⁄Weather On Batch" will run a procedure after your main update to make all the dates, times and weather information the same across the whole batch. Added backup override feature for Beta Testers and those using Field Track in a services manner. Field Track stores its backup settings in the "Data" folder, so sharing "Data" folders, or restoring someone else's Field Track data on your system can present problems with backup settings from other clients, or when testing Field Track. You can force Field Track to ignore any automatic backup settings by editing the "Config.ini" file within the Field Track folder (where the "Fieldtrack2.exe" file resides) by adding the line:

Added the ability to save your field reference database when importing Field Track and "Farmade Work Planner" files. Field Track uses the field's name as the matching reference when importing Planner records. If Field Track cannot find the field it will ask you to select the correct field. This information is saved to a database, so should the same field name difference crop up again Field Track knows what to do. This database is normally cleared after every import operation. You can tell Field Track to save this database to a disk file for later use. It is important to realise that Field Track uses a core field area to calculate costs⁄area, so reusing the reference database can lead to errors if field areas change after the database is saved for later use. You can delete (reset) the database by deleting the saved file. Field Track will automatically delete the file every year. Access these new options under the "Import" button in the Field Track Planner system.
Added "Dressing" column available in "All Application" grid customise options. It should now be possible to create a useful ACCS quick report using the "All Application" grid display.

Added new "Professional" feature to aid altering stock control balances. Each list of stock items can be 'right-clicked' to produce a "Stock Balance". This feature can be used within Field Track, or through an outside source like a PDA. Export and import options exist for many file formats. "Update" function will check each entry in the adjustment column with the stock records. If different, Field Track will add either a stock purchase, or sale to enable the final stock level to balance. No alteration is made to the costings, only the stock balance. It is up to the user to decide how to deal with any stock balance changes.
"Professional" users can use PDA devices to export and import records to and from the Application Planner system. Please refer to the "What's New" help file, or the latest help file, as this is an advanced feature.

Fixed and tested multi-span Zip back-up system. Be sure to use good⁄new floppy disks when backing up to floppy disk. Field Track will require some degree of free space on the first floppy disk, as it writes a control file, thus when restoring it can read the first disk in the set without requiring the last disk to be inserted first.

Changed the default "Field Track Report" compressed file extension from "Zip" to "FTR", as it may have been possible to load in any Zip file and thus corrupt the report database. You can force Zip files if required.
Added "View" menu option "Year-On-Year Averages (Pro)". This is only available to Professional users and allows you to do year on year averaging for crop type, variety, holding farm, or field owner. You can selectively restrict what you average, as well as decide the starting year and how many years previous to calculate your averages. The maximum previous year count 20. This feature can be slow if you decide to average a lot of information across many years. The result is a display of the average figures in each year, as well as an average for the whole span of years.

Fixed an application delete error. If the field had no other similar costs an error would display and the field's costs and gross margin figures would not be updated correctly. The application would get deleted however.

Field Track registration files renamed to text files to counter Outlook Express' default anti-virus settings. Outlook Express users could not easily transfer registration files to the Field Track installation folder. Files renamed to "FTracklic.txt" and "FTrackPROlic.txt".
If seed "Product" is left blank when adding a seed, the crop type will be copied into the product field.
Resolved application "Cost⁄Area" totals on the main screens when dealing with part field applications. All application costs now calculate their figures based on the field's cropped area. This fix requires a major upgrade of your main database files. The upgrade procedure makes a "General Back-up" of your data files before making any changes. Issues are attached with this alteration. If a field's core "Area Cropped" changes the applications against this field will still calculate on the old areas. You can alter the application's 'Whole Field Area' by clicking on the application's "Area Applied" label and updating. Changing the field's "Area Cropped" with applications on the field is not advised. You will be warned if records are listed on a field when you change the "Area Cropped".
Improved "Planner" default import⁄export to include note fields. Engaged advanced import system for Professional users.
Restoring back-up records now closes Field Track after it has completed the operation. Restart Field Track to use the restored records.

Improved "Soil Records" database upgrade. System corrects blank links between soil and field records, as well as fixes blank "Base Field" numbers in your field records. Only affects users who have not already upgrade to version 126.96.36.199, or 188.8.131.52.
Added option to "Soil Records" to search for orphaned records.
Fixed creating new field not entering in the correct "Base Field" number. This has a knock on effect with soil records and cropping history. The field's "Base Field" number links the same field across several years, or split fields to a single field.
Fixed "Soil Records" with regard to no field "Base Field" number. Records with no base field number are orphaned records and need correcting to the right field. All orphaned soil records will be displayed. Both the soil records and the field in question needs to be corrected to the correct field "Base Field" number.
"Soil Records" can now customise grid to display the record's field "Base Field" number, which can be edited. This will be displayed by default if you access soil records of a field with no "Base Field" number.
Fixed several issues in "Harvest Records" for better data entry.
Fixed "Soil Records" with regard to a better data entry system if using the keyboard. RETURN and TAB keys work better. Each record row size can also be adjusted, as several database fields are in fact 'memo' fields and the RETURN key acts as a linefeed which can be confusing when only displaying a single line of the record's grid row.
Fixed "Soil Records" with regard to correcting an incorrect upgrade process where the soil records were based on the internal field's database code instead of the field's "Base Number" record. If an old soil database version is dectected all soil records are corrected. Soil records will now display regardless of year and will be based on the field's "Base Number", which never changes from one year to the next.
Added a new Continuous Drier record system. Field Track now supports two sets of harvest record data. Logs can be stored of wet grain coming in, as well as batch drying. The new "Continuous Drier Records" allow a continuous record to be created and linked to stores and fields.
Added export function to "Continuous Drier Records", which uses a text file system to transfer records from one machine to another. The assumption is made that both computers hold the same Field Track data, so field code references are the same. Export function exports all the currently viewed records. Import function appends records to existing database. This is not an append⁄replace option. If the record already exists then it will be added again.

Applying Fertiliser Planner records would give an error and not apply the record(s), however it would delete the Planner record. This is now fixed and code has been added that should Field Track generate a fault in applying a Planner record it can safely recover and not delete the unapplied Planner record.
Added an email system for users to refer friends to Field Track. If the friend purchases Field Track "Client" then the referrer will receive a year's free "FTUC" membership.
"Check For Update" will now download the latest "Field Track Web News" file and display it on the starting update screen, as well as while you download any update.

"Pricing Database" can now import data from a previous season using the new "Import" button. You can selectively decide which information to import. Some defaults are preset.
Added "Store" record field in "Storage⁄Equipment Records" to complete the link for ACCS records.
Added "Discharge" rate for harvest drier records for continious driers.
Added the ability to display a bitmap image of your harvest store locations. Five images are available and must be stored in your "Data" folder and called "Store 1.bmp", "Store 2.bmp" respectively up to "Store 5.bmp". Note the space between "Store" and the respective number. Images can be accessed at key times if you forget which store names are which. You can create a picture of the store to remind you.
Added a new "Records" menu option: "Store To Field Records". This allows you to select a harvest store and see all field records, as well as "Storage" records linked to this store. Limited printing is currently available to "Professional" users only.
Added "Export" options to the "Chronological" system, so you can export all your field application records.
Fixed a rounding error in the application add system. Also altered stock control with similar fixes. New, or edited applications will have more accurate total product usage and costs. Price and rate, as well as some other figures will generally work to a decimal place of 8 for better accuracy.
Fixed a fault when trying to edit prices when an application's stock link is removed (unlinked).

Added field specific graphs to the end of the Application grids on the "Advanced" screen, which will graph chemical type, as well as, fertiliser and chemical reason costs. These can be found to the far right of the application pagecontrol, as a new tab called "Graphs"
Fixed application date and time checking, so a finish date greater than the start date will correctly accept a finish time earlier than the start time. Originally the time check was not taking account of the dates.
Application "Add" default dates and times now correctly adjust if the time is close to midnight. All applications create a start and finish time with a 30 minute time span. If this occurs close to midnight the finish date will adjust accordingly. Double clicking on the "Start Time" automatically adjusts the finish time to 30 minutes later.
Added a "Frequently Asked Questions" option to the "Help" menu, which will strike up you default web browser and take you to the FAQ page on the Field Track website..
Clicking on the underlined date label in an application add window will make all application types in an "Advanced Edit" setting have the same dates and times.
Made a couple of minor changes to the "Pricing Database", so it is slightly easier to use and defaults to full screen.
Added right-click options to diary items. "Toggle Flashing" switches the flashing feature on an off. "Repeat Daily⁄Monthly" allows you to create repeated items every x days, or months and how many repeated items you want. For example you can repeat an event every 1 month and have it repeat 12 times to add an exact copy of the diary item every month for a year. Options also exist to cut, copy and paste items.
The Field Track Diary can now be accessed from the Storage⁄Equipment Records and the main Application Add⁄Edit screens.
"Professional" users can access a diary check feature when Field Track starts in the "Configuration" settings under the "Email⁄Diary Settings" tab. This allows you to have Field Track check your diary for events on, or around today's date. The default is "0", which checks for events on today's date. An entry of 2 will check for events 2 days before and 2 days after today's date. If any events are found they will be displayed in a list for you.
Added a weather recording system for "Professional" users. The records are part of the Diary database, however can be accessed from the main screen(s), as well as elsewhere within Field Track. An import facility is provided.
Fixed "Stock Inventory" not updating the display when adding a new "Stock Item" and first purchase.
Reverted all application inputs back to displaying the start and finish times to the second. This is generally unimportant, however all times are stored to the database to a resolution of one second (in fact millisecond) by default. Due to stock control you need to be sure that a stock item's "Close" date and time is exactly correct compared to an application's start date and time. One second out either way will affect which records get updated relative to stock control. It is important, when times are so close, you can see the differences.
New "Stock Item" "Close" date defaults the application's start date and time if stock inventory is accessed through application records.
Added new calculator to "View" - "General Calculators (Pro)" menu option. "Chemical Tank Calculator" allows you to enter your water rate, application rate, tank sizes (main and secondary), as well as total area. This calculator will detail how much chemical each tank requires, the number of full tanks required and what remains to be applied. Results can be labelled and added to a list, which can be then printed.
Fixed "Standard" interface "Create Split Field". The error created a field with no season tag, thus it never appeared on the field list. Added code to delete any fields with no 'Season' tag when looking at "Detailed Cropping History", as a check to keep the field list 'clean'.
Fixed "Spread Event" delete function. You can now delete "Spread Events". This option is limited to the spread database and affects nothing else.
Fixed application delete error when dealing with applications that also have "Spread Events". Delete is now fully functional and "Spread Events" are deleted if the core application is deleted. Also fixed an issue where "Fertiliser" applications were not going to the "Spread" database correctly.
Fixed "Restore" progress bar if no data is found when opening Field Track.
Speeded up ZIP back-up when backing up all records and the manual file back-up option. ZIP now no longer backs up your report databases when doing a record back-up.
"Print" - "Load Report To Database" will now load in add-on Report Zip files directly. Imported report files will go to the "All Folder" listing ready for better placement and now show their correct file sizes in the Report Explorer.
Email function now creates a log file in your Field Track folder called "Email.txt". This file may help in tracking down any errors in the email system, should one present itself. The file is deleted and re-created each time the email system within Field Track is used.
"Farmade" Planner import will now hunt down the field's default operator, sprayer, assessor and the field's "Owner" details. A "Farmade" Planner import assumes a "Chemical" application. This operation will slow down the import procedure slightly.
Fixed "Total Product" field calculating the "Price⁄Unit" to only 2 decimal places. System now correctly gives 4 decimal places.
Fixed "Advanced" screen left fertiliser application list swapping the actual costs with the budget costs.
Resized the "Stock Inventory" window to 480x640 by default.
Added a "Yield" option to Main Income. You can now decide if main income is based on yield, or area. Same calculation but makes better your figures for field differences. This option is in the main configuration system. "Area Based" is the default. If this option is changed all main income sale crop types require to be re-selected to have the new calculation used. Changing this setting does not alter the currently calculated Main Income figures. To have the figures recalculated it is only required you re-select each of the "Sales Crop" types, as all field with the same "Sales Crop" will also get recalculated. It may also be an advantage to use the field display grid and add columns for "Sale Crop", "Main Income", "Main Income⁄Area", as well as "Main Income Percentage", so you can better understand how the figures work. It is advised you keep an eye on these figures, as some changes will, or will not affect them. If you group your fields by "Sales Crop" you will also see that percentages and total income balance.
Added a right-click "Check Stock Figures" to the Stock Item list in Stock Inventory. Field Track decides if it should check the figures, or not. You can force it to do this routine if you consider the stock levels incorrect.
Added access to the "Stock Inventory" system in a main application Add⁄Edit window by clicking on the Stock Code. Correct access to Stock Inventory is usually through the "Product Database".
Fixed "General Calculator" fertiliser requirement figures. Altered all figures to 4 decimal places. Added extra details for fertiliser requirement calculation. "General Calculations" 'Print' function now dumps the window, as an image, to the printer.
Fixed "Sales Crop" and "Main Income" details clearing when moving from a field with a "Sales Crop" to one with none.
Fixed Add⁄Edit Income window to better update the status of the "Add", or "Update" buttons when changes are made.

Added some extra checking for blank 'Product' fields when editing an application.
Added a "Group" application edit button. This feature allows to you alter the price of all products of the same name in the season, or between two dates. Used mainly for those users that use buyers groups and want a basic way to quickly alter the price of many products of the same name. This feature is not functional if the application is controlled by stock control. No stock product applications will be affected. Applications spread across more than one year could be affected without altering the remaining spread events. You will be asked for two dates, or use the "All In Season" check to affect all records with the same product name across the whole season - minus any linked to stock control. The application you are currently editing *WILL* edit all the details, so be careful not to alter the rate, as only the visible application will take this change... Use this function with care, as it does not have a lot of 'checks' in place. You have two 3 options that will back you out of this feature. 2 questions and one "Cancel".

Fixed right-hand side Main Income system in the "Advanced" screen not setting the field's "Sales Crop Type".
Fixed an error when entering a "Main Income" when the field was not set-up with a "Sales Crop Type".
Changed application time fields to automatically move onto the next time unit, as you type. They also now only display the hour and minutes and not the seconds. However, this is not the case in the display grids.
Added further checks in the "Check For Update" option to improve possible upgrades going to the wrong folder when application restarted.
Internet upgrade wizard should be able to minimise Field Track while it downloads the update.
Added Map Measuring abilities to the "Picture" database, as well as standalone in the "View" menu. This is a "Professional" feature only.
Field's can now store pictures and integrate with the map measuring features.
"Map Measure" has a new "Get Area" feature which will attempt to draw around a field in the background. It is important the field's image is completely closed off with a different colour. This feature requires images to be more than 2 colours. If Field Track believes the background image is only 2 colour it will convert it to a 24bit image.
Added index to picture database to speed up record listing. This is check and correct, as you load Field Track.
Added an "Update Database Details" option to picture records so the picture's name and details can be updated.
Added a "Packs Reuired" to the "Quantity Calculator" using the "Pack Size" field.
Added a new "General Calculator" under the "View" menu. This feature currently provides a Fertiliser and Product Price Compare feature, as well as a few calibration tools - to be expanded in the future... (Professional Users Only).
Clicking on the wet, or dry yield in "Harvest Records" will display the CWT⁄Acre figure. This feature assumes Ha the default area measurement. Calculation is simply your Tonnes⁄Ha multiplied by 8.

New applications will default to a 30 minute start and finish time difference by default. Double clicking on a Start Time will also make the Finish Time 30 minutes later than the entered Start Time.

Fixed a "Batch Processing" field list delete function error.
Added Field Track "Forecaster" tool to the "View" menu. This is a "Professional" feature only and allows you to create basic cropping plans for several seasons and see the differences in gross margins.
Added a "File" menu option "Fix 1900 Dates" which will route out all "Pricing Database" entries and "Application Records" with dates 1900, 1901, 1902, or 1903 and will add 100 years to them. The "StockDate" does not get changed, however this will not normally be a problem.
