Village Projects

 Topcliffe Village Projects

Tollbooth / Youth Engagement Project

It was noted that a grant for £1300 had been received from North Yorkshire County Committee for Hambleton and that as a result work would commence imminently. It was also noted that Rosie Bailey, the youth worker in charge of the outreach programme, had met with Garry Key, and that she would help with organising youth evenings at the tollbooth up to two nights per month

Troop involvement in village projects

GK had met Col Nugey who informed him that the troops would like to get involved in various village projects. They have agreed to build a shelter with water butts for the cemetery, and will provide labour to clear the Sheepwash and possibly to put in a landing stage. A request was noted from Linda Nuttal, that the land is somehow prevented from building up into her garden.

Butler memorial bench

GK has spoken to Tracey Butler to outline the parish’s concerns regarding flooding at the Sheepwash where the bench may be cited. GK agreed to discuss further with Ms Butler.

Tom Brown memorial bench

The council noted that NCYY Environmental Services have corresponded with the clerk stating that they have no objections to the sitting of the bench on Church St and that the statutory undertakers will be contacted. The licence will be issued once they have provided the necessary information.
